We’re thrilled and excited to announce the birth of our second child, a little girl, named Ellie Skye. Born July 2, 2014 at 1:32pm weighing in at 7lbs 6oz and 19.5″ long.
Colby & I are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our second child, a little girl, who will be named Ellie Skye. I’m currently on maternity leave. While I try to continue to respond to emails within a timely manner, please be patient if it takes longer than 2 business days to respond. I will return from maternity leave on Monday, September 8th. During this time, I will not be able to respond to voicemails. Feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you to Alison Neumark of Life and Love Studio for the photo!
For the last few months, I’ve been focusing my attention on my spring weddings and engagements, however, on the side, I’ve been working not-too-secretly on developing a new side of my business. I’m moving into modern women’s portraiture and I couldn’t be more excited. The transformations that happen not only outwardly, but inwardly, have been amazing to watch.
I recently sent a voucher to Adair Currie of Dairing Events for her goodie bags for an event she’s put together called the Dairing Bride Academy. It’s Jacksonville’s first interactive wedding planning workshop for brides. If you haven’t heard of it, be sure to click here because it’s going to be a spectacular event! I would love to have participated in the event live, however, my due date for baby #2 is July 7th so I won’t be able to attend. So the next best way to participate as a vendor was to send a voucher for the goodie bags!
I’m extending this voucher to my blog readers as well! The voucher is good for those who book before November 1st, 2014. Right now I’m booking sessions for September 2014 and beyond.
Consider it a day to get glammed up for a fun girl’s day out! Feel free to bring your friends, mom, sister, etc! We’ll have a pre-session consultation over the phone to talk about what to expect and wear for your session. When you come in for your session, you’ll get to have your hair and makeup professionally done and a glamour shoot with me. Be sure to plan a night out afterwards since you’ll be all glammed up!
At the end of your session, you’ll book a date to come back for your photo viewing where you’ll have the opportunity to purchase prints or a folio box with matted prints inside. The photos from your session will be ready within 2 weeks from your session. For more information, click the contact link in the navigation menu! I’m really looking forward to this new adventure on the portrait side of my business. No sweating, no mosquito bites, no reschedules for rain, clouds, heat, etc; just a girly, fun time!
Here’s an example of a before and an after photo. I’m am of the belief that all women are beautiful in their natural state; no makeup, but let’s face it. We all love a good outward makeover to match how we feel inside. Consider it a few hours of pampering with a lifetime of remembering how amazing you felt the day you had your photos taken. Below is Alison. She’s a beautiful and VERY talented photographer located in St. Augustine. Alison just had her second baby in March with her shoot at the end of April. With a newborn and a sweet 3 year old girl, Alison was ready for some pampering. Here’s her before and after. To see more, click here to view my portfolio.

I’m so lucky and blessed to work with so many amazing couples. Seriously, I know I say this with everyone, but it’s because I truly mean it. I had the pleasure of photographing Rob and Rebecca’s wedding as my last wedding before starting maternity leave and what a beautiful wedding to go out on! Rob and Rebecca had their wedding ceremony and reception at Epping Forest Yacht Club, and just like Monday’s blog post, mother nature decided it should be wet and rainy. Not only did I run into some old friends from high school, but I found out that we had a lot of past friends in common! It’s such a small world!
Here are a few of my favorites from Rob and Rebecca’s wedding. One of my favorite photos was at the end of the night. We wanted to do some “after dark” photos in the rain and I was super excited that Rob and Rebecca were agreeable to it without an umbrella! It was barely sprinkling… that is until we got them out there and literally, after the first picture, the rain started picking up, so we only had a minute or so to capture what we wanted and get them back inside.
